In a dream, it means one’s sons or daughters….

…in the dream, then they represent trials and adversities in the place where they are seen. Whichever of the two fires is closer to a water source in the dream means that such an army is more liable to a voluntary retreat or submission. If the water flows and extinguishes that fire in the dream, it also means that the water will be debilitated and consequently consumed. The more black smoke a fire produces in one’s dream, the greater is the danger and consequent sufferings. If one kindles a fire in the night for people to see their way through in a dream, it means that he will acquire a knowledge and with it, he will help people through their life, admonish and guide them. If one sees himself kindling a fire on the road during the daylight in a dream, it means that he will embark on the road…

…Dreaming of seeing an eye, warns you that watchful enemies are seeking the slightest chance to work injury to your business. This dream indicates to a lover, that a rival will usurp him if he is not careful. Dreaming of brown eyes, denotes deceit and perfidy. To see blue eyes, denotes weakness in carrying out any intention. To see gray eyes, denotes a love of flattery for the owner. Dreaming of losing an eye, or that the eyes are sore, denotes trouble. …if she weighed each syllable in her mind very carefully before she spoke, ” I have heard of you from the Rev. Mr. Towell.” At the mention of the name of the chaplain at Dartmoor, Lil — you know the fellow who laid it on so thick when I was doing time there, three years ago last May — at the mention of his name, Lil, I jumped as if I had been shot.”Then you’re a lady missionary, are you?” I said, with a scowl. ”If that’s your game, all I can say is that you’ve come to the wrong shop. I don’t cotton to prigs of that kidney.”” I spoke so savage, Lil, that the lady shook all over, and I saw her eyes flash round the room as if seeking the quickest avenue of escape. Then she suddenly grew calm, and, lifting her veil, stared me straight in…

Some authors support the theory that the unconscious is warning us through dreams about a possible incubation of a disease, or some organic weakness. But others point out that the dream shows us a need for affection and care. There is also a curious and old theory referred to dreaming that a family member gets sick. If in the dream the relative is the parent it may be a prediction of some disease in our head. If the mother gets sick, the disease will be in the belly. In the case of a child, it will be the heart that gets sick and if the brothers or sisters are sick our arms and legs are in danger.

…has stood, crouched, sat, or lain at the foot of my bed with greedy expectation in her eyes, I have seen countless other forms and faces; human faces on animal bodies, and vice versa; countenances all awry, and convulsed alternately with anger and merriment; hotchpotches of clothes and limbs mixed anyhow; and yet — yet, despite the apparent chaos, after long and earnest thought I have come to the conclusion that all, all may contain some subtle, hidden meaning. Each contortion of the face, each monstrous feature, each action, gesture, and colour may, and in all probability does, contain its own peculiar significance; interpretative, had I but the key, to the language of the past, the future — and the secrets of the occult world. The same observation applies to the dreams of the opium smoker — the dreams wherein he travels through scenes of surpassing beauty and strangeness — scenes…

…Who has not dreamed of being suddenly bereft of their clothes and of finding themselves in some public place, the cynosure of all eyes, without even so much as a pocket-handkerchief? A dream of this kind happened to someone I know — someone who is much to the fore in society. He dreamed that he and his brother were strutting up and down Bond Street, when he suddenly noticed that everyone was looking at them in a very odd and marked manner. Wondering what it could mean, he hurriedly glanced at his person (the subject of clothes, by the way, was ever uppermost in his mind), and, to his undying shame and horror, saw that he was naked, and so was his brother. In an agony of mind, he caught hold of the latter by the arm and whispered: “For goodness sake, Dick, make for the first cab you…

…nasty “turns” by enemies, failures in work.I have often dreamed about fish. I remember once having a very vivid dream about a shark.I fancied I was bathing in a fresh-water pool close to the house where I was staying, when, to my surprise and horror, I suddenly saw the fin of a shark bearing straight down on me. I shouted for help, and the next moment found myself falling down a well with the shark, an enormous white shark, in full pursuit of me. On arriving at the bottom, I was abruptly transferred to the drawing-room of a house I had not visited or thought of for at least twenty years, when the first thing I saw on the tea-table, its baleful eyes fixed on mine with a malicious grin, was the head of the shark.I awoke in fear and trembling — as indeed I might after such a startling…

For a married person to dream that the fire burns clear, and the smoke spins from the chimney, is a good omen, but to dream that the fire is difficult to light, and the smoke returns to the ground, is a sign that matrimony will prove incomplete. If the fire ceases to burn, it is a sign of separation.

Tobacco smoke means sensual pleasures. To spoil it: penalty. Smoke it: victory.

To dream that you are married, and the fire burns clear, and the smoke spires from the chimney, is a happy omen : but to dream that the fire is difficult to light and the smoke returns to the ground, is a sign that matrimony will prove incomplete If the fire ceases to burn, it is a sure sign of separation.

…In a dream, sparks represent ugly words. If one sees sparks hitting him in a dream, it means that he will hear harsh words pronounced against him by someone in authority. If one’s clothing ignites and burns from sparks in the dream, it means aggravation of his condition. If smoke engulfs the sparks in one’s dream, then they represent an awesome adversity. Whenever smoke appears in one’s dream, it represents an appalling and a horrifying calamity. If the sparks cause secondary burns in the dream, then they represent a weak enemy who slanders him and one may bear the consequences of such slander with patience, and its evil and fire will eventually diminish. If one sees a major eruption of sparks in his dream, they represent a major calamity. If a spark falls in the midst of a gathering in the dream, it means a fight and harm. Sparks…

Dreaming of a lighted house chimney hints that all matters at hand are going well and that there is prosperity. Dreaming of throwing wood to a burning fireplace indicates that any affairs that the dreamer might have will improve due to the attention that is being paid to them. If the dreamer throws any kind of fuel when the fireplace is off it indicates losses and failures. Dreaming that there is smoke coming out of a factory chimney, indicates that any affairs or matters that the dreamer may have are on track. Dreaming of factory chimney’s without smoke means that the dreamer’s affairs are declining and that bad times are approaching that will bring problems, diseases, etc. Dreaming of a chimney collapsing means that any activities that the dreamer might have will collapse as well.

It symbolizes the spirit and the spiritual side of the dreamer. The flame symbolizes the intellect. The flame without smoke rising straight into the sky symbolizes the intellect in the service of the spirit. The flickering flame symbolizes the intellect forgets the spirit. The smoking and devouring fire symbolizes the exalted passion. A small or moderate fire represents desire and tenderness. If the fire is too strong and wild that indicates danger of arguments, passions and anger. If the fire burns badly and produces a lot of smoke, then that announces betrayals. Feeling threatened by the flames denotes fear of facing an enterprise. Walking through the flames with impunity reflects the determination to overcome all obstacles.

It portends welfare and wealth to be acquired with effort. If the candles go out during sleep, then it portends that our work will be in vain. We will interpreter this to the meaning of candle. When the flame of a candle is strong, light and rises vertically with little smoke, it means we know very well what we want in life. A candle with a flickering flame, which burns with difficulty and abundant smoke, indicates that our ideas are fragile and unstable. If it fades, that means we are reaching the limits of our possibilities. A break will be imposed. When we light a candle to illuminate a dark place and it lit well, then it indicates that we will undertake preparation to the spiritual journey decisively and effectively. If it burns with difficulty, then it indicates that we are not ready for this trip yet.

…a sore, a gangrene in this place of beauty, cleanliness and elegance; and as I am wondering at the strange incongruity of it, he solicits me for alms. I refuse. He asks again. I threaten him with the police. He is at once silent. Turning my back on him, I continue my promenade. Someone in the street utters a cry of horror. I swing round, and as I do so, the tramp stabs me in the back. I catch a look of hellish vindictiveness in his eyes, and then, seized with an instantaneous and dreadful sickness, I stagger, reel and fall, struggle, gasp — and die!I think this dream must be intended as a warning, and I never visit a fresh seaside place — particularly abroad — without considerable anxiety as to the appearance of the front. So far, I have found no place to correspond quite with that in…

…To dream that you fall into the mire, and you are covered with filth, if a servant, you will lose your character, through pilfering: if the dirt gets into your eyes, you will experience confinement, most likely be imprisoned, if you see clouds rapidly moving, beware of transportation. To run and fall, then rise, and run again, is a sign that you have a litigious temper that will ruin you. But, to dream you run without interruption, is a sign of diligence, and that you will accomplish your design. To dream that you fall from your horse when the hounds are in full cry, and that you see the game killed, denotes the death of a friend, and the funeral of a near relative. To fall from a hill, or any high place, and fancy you drop upon another, is a happy omen: it denotes that your merit will…

…horse, with intensely evil eyes, gazing up at her. Greatly terrified, she turned to run downstairs to see that all the gates were shut, when, to her horror, the horse stalked into the room and rushed savagely at her. She then awoke, and was too frightened to sleep again till the morning.Another curious dream befell a gentleman I met in Liverpool. Shortly before his house caught on fire and was all but burned to the ground, he dreamed he was cycling along a hot and dry country road, when a chestnut horse appeared upon the scene, and commenced to plunge and shy immediately in front of him. Much alarmed, he got off his bicycle, and was preparing to seek the shelter of a garden he now observed for the first time; close at hand, when the horse rushed at him, and, seizing him viciously by the back, threw him on…

…(Disease | Ophthalmia) In a dream, eye inflammation means tightening of one’s earnings, or it could mean heedlessness. Seeing one’s eyes inflamed in a dream means that one’s father or mother may fall sick. Inflam- mation of the eyes in a dream also denotes near blindness or suffering from a cataract. Any vision loss in a dream represents failing to properly perform one’s religion, loss in business or an indication of the state of one’s children….

…Snake-dreams are unlucky, and signify injuries by enemies, scandal, unkind gossip, and falseness on the part of those who have hitherto posed as friends. From among the many snake-dreams I have heard and recollect, I select the following, as examples.A lady, who had formed a great friendship with a woman with a peculiar cast in her eyes (a disfigurement which, in my opinion, frequently points to deceit), once dreamed she was walking in her garden, when out of a rose glided an enormous green snake. Greatly alarmed, she was on the verge of running away to solicit help to kill the brute, when she saw, to her amazement, that it had human eyes, and, on bending down to examine it more closely, she found herself looking into the countenance of her woman friend. Hair, features and complexion were exactly similar, but the expression was different: it was an expression of…

…If one’s eyelids are healthy in his dream and particularly for a women, it indicates positive developments in her life. If one’s eyelids have little skin, or if they are bleared, or if they develop sores in the dream, they represent difficulties, agony, anger, sickness or distress. Eyelids in a dream also represent one’s defenses and protection. They also represent one’s teacher, brothers, sisters, family, wife, children, coffer, veil, guards, confidant or trustees. Eyelids in a dream also mean something to be overlooked. Having bleared eyelids in a dream means being in love. If one’s eyes are interpreted to represent his wealth, then they mean protection, or paying alms tax. If the outer edge of the eyelid turns white in a dream, it means an illness affecting one’s head, eyes or ears. (Also see Body’)…

…If you dream of a corpse, a death, or a funeral, you will hear of a birth, engagement, or marriage; but not necessarily in connection with the person you dream about. Occasionally, however, the dream is literally verified and the person dreamed about dies. I recollect dreaming I went into the dining-room of a house in which I was staying, and saw on the table a coffin. Horrified out of my senses at so ghastly a spectacle, I would have fled at once, had I not been compelled by an irresistible curiosity to go up to the coffin and peer in. My terror then was inconceivable, for the body I saw was that of my host, his face marred with all the horrible disfigurements of advanced decomposition. But the climax of horror was not yet reached, for, as I gazed, the corpse slowly opened its eyes, and, with a…

…a dream means replacing him in his function. Kissing a judge in a dream means that one’s testimony will be accepted by the court. If a judge kisses someone in a dream, it means that the latter will win a court case, or benefit from such a judge, and the same interpretation applies if a leader or a boss kisses someone in a dream. Kissing one’s father in a dream also means benefiting from one another. Kissing one’s son with passion in a dream means saving money for him, or building a business for him. Giving one’s son a tender kiss in a dream means receiving joy or money from him or from his mother. Kissing someone between the eyes in a dream means marriage. Kissing someone’s eyes in a dream means pursuing both heterosexual and homosexual life and such a dream carries a warning to cease such loathsome and…

…To dream of madness presages impending trouble of all sorts. Not infrequently the dream is, to a large extent, fulfilled. I well recollect a lady saying to me once: “I dreamed last night that my brother and I were sitting by ourselves in the breakfast – room, when, something making me suddenly look up at him, I perceived a curious glitter in his eyes — a glitter that made my blood run cold. Presently, he made the most frightful grimace, baring his teeth, bulging out his eyes and frowning, and then all his features contorted as if they were India-rubber, and I saw something too evil and repulsive for words. With a shriek of terror I sprang up and made a rush for the door, and as I did so he gave a loud chuckle and bounded after me, crying out:”I’m mad! I’m mad! Say your prayers, I’m going…

…Enhancing and beautifying the eyes. As for a man, his eyebrows represent his good nature and character, being handsome, religious, faithful, trustworthy, his status and esteem. In a dream, eyebrows also mean love and unity. If a woman sees her eyebrows thick or if they are joined together in the dream, it means that she is a person of good character. Eyebrows in a dream also represent one’s parents, brothers, partners, associates or assistants. If the eyebrows grow extensively to nearly covering the eyes in the dream, it means changes in any of the above. Eyebrows in a dream also mean longevity. In a dream, eyebrows also indicate the state of one’s spiritual standing. When beautiful, one’s faith is beautiful, but when wild in a dream, it means that one’s faith is deteriorating. Perhaps they could also represent one’s guardian, gover- nor or they could represent a bow that…

…(See Squinting and Blind.) If you dream you see a person with a defective eye, it denotes disappointment: to see a glaring squint eye in your dream, shows that you will be defeated or crossed in some enterprise. To dream that your own eyes are defective, or squint, is a sure sign of bad luck: sore eyes denote sickness: blindness, death, or deception. Lucky lottery dream numbers – 66, 49, 78….

…one’s awareness, one’s ear in a dream represents a pouch, a wallet, a coffer or a safe. Ears in a dream are also interpreted to mean separation from one’s wife or daughter. If only half of one’s ear is there in the dream, it means the death of his wife. If one finds himself deaf in his dream, it means that he may lose his faith. Having large ears in a dream means shunning or avoiding what is true. If one sees as though his ears have eyes in the dream, it means that he may lose his sight. If one sees himself eating the accumulated wax of his ears in the dream, it means that he is a child molester. If one sees grass growing all over him but does not cover his ears or eyes in the dream, it means prosperity. (Also see Body 1 | Earwax)…

…I often dream of the same town. Sometimes all the inhabitants appear wearing costumes of one colour, sometimes all appear wearing costumes of another colour, sometimes they all appear clad in black. Having dreamed one of these dreams quite recently, I append the following description:I found myself approaching the town from the direction of a desert. It was a glorious evening, and the walls and windows of the houses shone like burnished gold in the ruddy glow of the slanting sunbeams. But what impressed me on this occasion, over and above all, was the silence; it seemed assumed for a purpose and to be part of a plot, in which everyone and everything participated, and I had the uncomfortable feeling that I was to be the victim of some unpleasant hoax. I cast my eyes in all directions — there was not a soul to be seen — the…

…Dreaming of women, foreshadows intrigue. To argue with one, foretells that you will be outwitted and foiled. To see a dark-haired woman with blue eyes and a pug nose, definitely determines your withdrawal from a race in which you stood a showing for victory. If she has brown eyes and a Roman nose, you will be cajoled into a dangerous speculation. If she has auburn hair with this combination, it adds to your perplexity and anxiety. If she is a blonde, you will find that all your engagements will be pleasant and favorable to your inclinations….

…(Blear-eyed | Discharge of the eyes | Rheum) To see one’s eyes dimmed with foul discharges, or to see oneself blear-eyed in a dream means gazing at what is unlawful, becoming apathetic toward evil people, or suffering from financial difficulties, and for a woman it means inability to conceive children….

…Dreaming that you see some person with squinting eyes, denotes that you will be annoyed with unpleasant people. For a man Dreaming that his sweetheart, or some good-looking girl, squints her eyes at him, foretells that he is threatened with loss by seeking the favors of women. For a young woman to have this dream about men, she will be in danger of losing her fair reputation….

…(Lawn) In a dream, grass represents religious awareness and blessings. If one sees grass growing in the palm of his hand in a dream, it means that he will discover his wife having a secret affair, and he will find her in the company of someone else. If one sees grass growing over his hand in a dream, it means that he will die shortly and grass will grow over his grave. If he sees grass growing in a place where it is not supposed to grow, such as inside one’s house or inside a mosque in a dream, it means a wedding. If one sees grass growing all over him but does not cover his ears or eyes in a dream, it means prosperity. If he sees grass growing on people’s hands or floating on water in a dream, it means a good harvest and prosperity for everyone….

…crash, and engine and coaches vanished from sight, over the side of a precipice. The next moment everything changed, and I found myself racing into the railway station to get my ticket. The place was absolutely deserted, not a porter nor a passenger anywhere, and the train all ready to go. The office was shut, as is always the case when we are in a desperate hurry in Phantomania, but, being determined to make the clerk hear, I commenced a vigorous cannonade with my fist on the pigeon-hole door. Presently the latter flew open, and out popped a bald, white head, with such evil, lurid eyes and sinister smile that, shocked beyond measure, I staggered back. As I did so, I came into conclusion with a porter, who, without asking my permission, unceremoniously shoved me into a train, and, before I could recover my breath, we were off. The compartment,…

…hock!” which they repeat in unison. This strange performance goes on for what to me seems an eternity, and just as I am beginning to think it never will terminate, the figures are suddenly quiet, and there appears in their midst a drummer with an enormous, round head, a huge, gaping mouth, and large, round, pale eyes full of an indefinitely peculiar expression; the very vagueness of which is absolutely terrifying. With the same unfathomable expression he flourishes his drumsticks in the air, and as he brings them down with a mighty, hollow-sounding boom, everything changes, and I find myself with hundreds of other people — all apparently equally bereft of reason — racing, as if for dear life, down a vast flight of stone steps. Even as I fly I rack my brains for some explanation of the panic, but, whenever I am on the verge of grasping a…

…(Inebriety) Drunkenness in a dream represents unhappiness, stress, depression, worries, vanity, arrogance, wantonness and abuse of riches. Wine in a dream represents the king of drinks. If one gets drunk from wine, then tears off his shirt in the dream, it means that he has put his life in order and has it harmoniously organized. It also means that he has abused his privileges by indulging in vain pleasures of living to such a degree that he could not bear to live with such comfort or control his passions and wants. If one is seen drinking wine to inebriety in a dream, it means that he earns unlawful money. It also means that such earnings will seem to have power over him in the way of spending them. To become drunk in a dream without drinking alcohol means feeblemindedness or childishness of an old man. Drunkenness in a dream…
